On the road today, but that doesn't mean I can skip my daily requirements. Had to get those pushups in at a truck stop.

First Week in February / Buckleys is a girls best friend

Cold season, ugh. After 2 days (and many missed pushups) I am starting to feel better.

I have been having multiple struggles through the past week and a half and have been trying to get through them with a smile on my face.

I get very frustrated with my physical limitations. I have multiple joint issues that have been causing me a

Sean Simon Week 5

Hey all, still managing to keep upt with my personal goals as well as the base physical requirements. I've begun work on my profiles of living heroes as well as planning out how to get my distance training in. It should all work out quite well for myself.

One thing that I've been struggling with is finding time in the day to complete all of the tasks. I am a local city truck driver for a large trucking company and I tend to work at least 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. I think t

Living Hero Profile #1

My first living hero profile interview is with colleague Joel Rivero. Joel is a Medical Laboratory Technology Instructor and also was one of the techs testing for the "famed" H1N1 flu virus. Joel also sings in the A Capella group Apocalypse Kow, but those are not the reasons why I am interviewing Joel. I am interviewing Joel because he ran in the 2009 New York City Marathon, a feat that I consider quite amazing.

SD: Joel, who was your childhood hero and why?
JR: My hero is my Mom. My Dad was si… Continue

Typing with wrist weights on, you really should try this. What a workout. Especially if you are keyboard challenged like myself. I can grapple with anyone blindfolded but can't type a paragraph without scanning the keyboard constantly. I guess we're all put on this earth to be useful for something.

If you haven't seen my earlier posts, I'm wearing wrist/ankle weights as a reminder to myself and to draw a little attention to our acts of kindness. When I do one I mentally mark

Perfectionism Getting in the Way...

I realized during my morning meditation today that I am, at times, my own greatest obstacle or more appropriately 'stumbling block'. I chose those words carefully and specifically because if I were to say that I were my own obstacle you might believe that I get in my own way, to be more honest, I hold myself back from even getting started because I don't want to do "anything" that I can't do well. I realize that having high standards for myself is a good thing, however, the reality is that my

Why am I doing this?

A better body. To build my business. A consistent workout. Learning
more martial arts material. The health of it. To earn another stripe.
To make a living. To break down barriers. For fun. For a learning
experience.

The truth is that these are all beneficial to me, but I think that they
are all by-products of the driving force behind my intentions and my
goals.

Rather than adding more stuff to 'me' I see it as cutting away the
inessentials. Carving out from all the 'fluff,'… Continue
